This company created a machine to make juice which costs almost $700 and, besides, it was able to use just their own packs of fruits and veggies, which were between $5 and $8. It also came with Wi-Fi connection though no one seems to know why.
To whoever who really thinks about it, this seems just insane because who has more than $700 for drinking juices? You had to subscribe to get the juice packs in order to use it. This project was doomed to failure since the beginning, let’s see why:
Maybe there was a lot of people who thought this was actually a good idea and something that would solve all problems in their life. But certainly it was not the majority and not too many were willing to give away $700 for a juice machine, leaving alone the fact of also having to but the fruits and vegetable packs.
Months later, Juicero launched a new version almost half of the cost, being $399, like they’d realized the former price was just crazy. But still you could get juice in cheaper ways.
The thing about having to get a subscription in order to get the juice packs and being able to use your super-expensive juice machine was just an inconvenient. Of course, the machine was not made for using any other kind of packs, so you were obligated to buy theirs.
What ultimately got this company to the ruin was the fact that the machine was discovered to be useless. There were videos and reports about this, which stated that a person could squeeze the juice packs with their own hands, so there was no need of the pricey juice maker. So it was not just very expensive, it was needless too. A couple of months after this went viral, the company announced its retirement.
Nowadays some companies have been dedicated to creating solutions for problems that don’t exist. I mean, you can have juice with a couple of fresh fruits and your regular blender, which is super easy to clean by just adding some water and soap on it and turning it on.
So we have to be very critical of new products and analyze if they are really worth it or if it’s just going to be a waste of money. Open your eyes!
